ABOUT US

Built in Port Shepstone. Grown across KwaZulu-Natal.

BSS Protection is a registered security company providing full security solutions to individuals, communities and businesses — with the goal of becoming the most admired security provider in the region.

OUR STORY

From a small Port Shepstone start-up to a trusted regional name.

The company behind BSS Protection was incorporated in 2013 by two young business owners based in KwaZulu-Natal. In 2019, leadership passed to Sibusiso Blessing Cele, who has directed the company since. We remain based in Port Shepstone, within the UGU District Municipality, with our registered office in town.

Over the years we've provided guarding, patrol and access-control services to mining operations, government departments, construction sites and local businesses throughout the district — building the local knowledge that comes from actually being on the ground.

MISSION

Protect. Empower. Deter crime.

To protect and empower our local community by providing security that deters crime, keeps people safe, and creates work and revenue for the local economy — while striving to deliver superior, exceptional security services across the board. Your property, private or business, is our first priority.

VISION

Expansion built on service delivery.

To be the leading security company in the region and beyond, expanding across South Africa through new and innovative service options, and service delivery that exceeds client expectations — resulting in job creation and lasting security, while maintaining a fair and sustainable business.

CODE OF ETHICS

Every officer works to a written standard.

Our code of ethics is aligned with the Code of Conduct prescribed under the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, 2001 (Act No. 56 of 2001), and its Code of Conduct for Security Service Providers, 2003.

  • Protect both life and property from criminal acts, and uphold the law at all times.
  • Respect the constitutionally guaranteed rights of every individual.
  • Conduct themselves with integrity and faithfulness, and report unlawful conduct rather than conceal it.
  • Put the client's interests first, except where a client's own practices are unlawful.
  • Set aside personal feelings, friendships or grievances that could affect professional conduct.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement whenever called upon to do so.
  • Refuse tips or bonuses not sanctioned by the company.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information, even after a contract ends.
SERVICE QUALITY

Quality systems built around each client, not a generic template.

We formulate quality management initiatives specific to each business partner's requirements — including core-competency modules that track effective areas, required standards, achieved standards and corrective action, alongside independent "mystery guest" audits. A customer satisfaction questionnaire complements existing service level agreements, keeping focus on the service actually delivered on the ground.
